Horsepower Calculator
Mechanical horsepower from torque and RPM (ft-lb or N·m).
Horsepower Calculator helps you mechanical horsepower from torque and RPM (ft-lb or N·m). Enter torque and engine speed, review the breakdown, and use the guidance below to understand what the number means — and what it does not. What the Horsepower calculator does Horsepower Calculator is built for everyday questions — shopping, home, travel, hobbies, and tech. Mechanical horsepower from torque and RPM (ft-lb or N·m). You enter torque and engine speed, then Simple Calculators computes the result instantly. Defaults are chosen to be easy to read — change any field to match your situation. How the math works Pick Units, then enter the Torque (in foot-pounds or newton-meters) and the Engine speed in rpm (revolutions per minute). Newton-meters are first divided by 1.3558 to get foot-pounds. Horsepower = torque × rpm ÷ 5,252, and kilowatts = horsepower × 0.7457. The table shows the power at nearby speeds if the torque stayed the same. The formula: HP = torque (ft-lb) × rpm ÷ 5,252. Torque in newton-meters is first divided by 1.3558 to get ft-lb.
